Washington Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe that abortions should be rare, safe and legal.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
We need to make the tax code more progressive than it is today. Implement the so-called Buffett Rule for example. I would also like to deny a tax deduction for outsourcing expenses incurred in relocating a U.S. business outside the United States. I support implementing a sunset provision on all corporate tax exemptions and renew them as needed. Any cuts should be done gradually so it does not have a drastic affect on our security and our economy.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I disagree with the Supreme Court decision that allows corporations to be treated as persons, and money as speech. We need to end the influence of money in politics. I am like many of you a working class guy. I strongly believe the money is not speech.

Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?

Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?

We also have to make sure we look at sensible guns laws to make us safer without infringing the rights on law abiding gun owners. We need to pass legislation, like we have passed in our state, which closes the internet sales and gun show loopholes. We need to make sure that if you are on the do not fly list, you should not be able to purchase a gun. We can all agrees on this sensible gun laws.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Our system is not working, and it must recognize the importance of families. Current laws, regulations, and enforcement do not take into account the importance of families, the economy and national security. We need comprehensive immigration reform. The current system does not reflect our American values.
